Request a Response (RaR)

We have made changes to the Request a Response (RaR) feature to improve Researcher experience and provide more functionality.

What’s New? (Updates for Researchers)

1. Increased Quota

Researchers can now have 2 open Request a Responses at any given time (previously the limit was 1). If you currently have an open RaR, they can now open a second one immediately.

2. Expanded Eligibility

Researchers can now open a Request a Response for submissions in the Informational substate, in addition to all other eligible states.

3. Automatic Expiration

Any open RaR will automatically expire after 10 business days if no response is provided by the party that the RaR was directed to.
When a request expires, your quota is immediately returned, allowing Researchers to open a new one.
The expiration event is recorded in the submission’s Activity Log, and Researchers will receive an email notification.

4. Visibility and Tracking

To help in manage requests:
The system now clearly displays the number of requests remaining in your available quota.
For any submission with an active RaR, Researchers will see the time remaining until it expires.
